Harley dog is only 3 but this Winter she has been acting like her hips and knees are killing her. She seems too young but maybe she inherited Donnys joint pain and swelling somehow. I know they're not actually related but I also know its not contagious. Those are my to answers for blame. Has to be genetically inherited or contagious. Nothing else works for me. :)
So, she hobbles around and tries to ease into movement. One day this winter it was so bad she was balanced on her front legs just so she wouldn't have to straighten out her back ones. It would have been funny watching her circus balancing act if she didn't seem so pained!
Fortunately as the Spring continues to warm up her joints seem to be better and better. Maybe I will dare take her on a run again without feeling guilty of causing her an injury.
On another doggy note, I am always keeping an eye open on pets at the local shelters. I can't talk Donny into another pet so somehow virtual shopping eases the longing for a houseful of pets. I ran across this beautiful brindle dog not long ago. I haven't seen many dogs that look so similar to Harley. They could be sisters! I wonder if enough people breed their Labs with American Bulldogs if there will be a bunch of Harley look a likes running around. I hope this little beauty ended up in a good family!
